Introduction

Darul Uloom London was established in 1988 and is situated in Chislehurst, Kent near London. The surrounding is very attractive and peaceful and the school is easily accessible from all directions.

Aims & Objectives

To seek the pleasure of Allah (s.w.t) by providing Islamic and Secular education for the Muslim community, in accordance with the Noble Qur'an and Sunnah of our Beloved Prophet (saw), so that they can practise ISLAM and serve the ‘Deen’ of ‘ALLAH.” The purpose is to produce great scholars and ‘Huffaz’ to preserve and transmit the eternal message of ‘Allah’. The institution helps children to explore and develop their Islamic identity as part of their mental, emotional and personal development. The institution offers an extensive Islamic syllabus, Arabic and Urdu along with the National Curriculum subjects of English, Mathematics, Information and Communication Technology, Humanities and Science up to G.C.S.E and A level, London Board of Examination (EDEXCEL). The school aims to prepare Muslim students to be good Muslims and responsible citizens; embed in the student a sense of discipline; enable them to grow up to become upright, respectable and worthy citizens of their countries; Provide a high quality of Islamic Education and training to degree level standard with provision for sound academic secular education in line with the National Curriculum.

Premises

This is a purpose built hostel constructed in 1974. Its premise comprises of 130 modern rooms in addition to classrooms, dining hall, assembly hall, prayer hall, Gym, playing fields and car parking with 100 spaces. The total area of the building is 10 acres. All the 130 modern rooms have standard facilities including cupboards and drawers, full carpeting, bed linen and mattresses. Each room is shared by two boys. An extension was built in 2007 consisting of 18 classrooms, science laboratory, prayer hall and wudhu (ablution) facilities.

Islamic Ethos

The Islamic ethos of the school is of utmost importance. In order to promote the Islamic ethos, the Darul Uloom School places strong emphasis on Islamic manners, behaviour, punctuality, Islamic dress code, mutual respect for fellow pupils and utmost respect for staff and parents. Darul Uloom Muslim School provides higher Islamic education and majority of the subjects from the national curriculum aiming for its students to become the future imams and religious leaders to serve the Muslim community in the UK, and make a positive contribution in the social coherent of a multi-cultural society.

The institution services to the UK Muslim and Non-muslim community

This institute has a prominent, social and religious status within the British community. We at the school provide services to all including:

  • Multi faith programs and events
  • Shar’ee council – conflict resolution panel
  • Organizing cultural events for non-muslim
  • Publishing of monthly magazine with discussion papers around social & religious topics
